Preventing Relapse

A relapse begins BEFORE the substance is used. There are many signs that indicate a relapse might be just around the corner

  • Avoiding problems
  • Problems sleeping
  • Missing meetings and aftercare

  • Dreaming of "the good old days"

  • Dwelling on mistakes
  • Holding on to resentments
  • Keeping secrets
  • Lying about activities
  • Hanging out with drug using friends
  • Thinking you are cured
  • Quitting therapy
  • Missing appointments
  • Stopping medications
  • Getting too hungry

  • Isolated/feeling lonely
